Healthy Collection

The Healthy Eating Plate, created by nutrition experts at the Harvard School of Public Health, is a guide to creating healthy, balanced meals.

What is the Healthy Plate Method?

This method consists of dividing the plate in the right proportions to achieve a healthy diet without using the scale.

1/4 protein
Proteins (fish, poultry, legumes and nuts; limit red meat and processed meats) should be introduced in this quarter of the plate.
1/4 of cereals
This quarter of the plate will be used for whole grains (whole wheat, barley, wheat grains, quinoa, oats, brown rice and whole grain pasta). Limit refined grains (such as white rice and white bread).
Vegetables
Half of the plate will be vegetables and fruits (the more vegetables and the greater the variety, the better).
Fruit
Eat lots of fruit, of all colors.
